Ukrainean Gay Pride Parade 2019

Today, June 23, thousands of people gathered in Ukraine capital – Kiev, to celebrate LGBT community. Under the protection of hundreds policemen and National Guard Troops, people were waving rainbow flags.

The supporters, dressed in bright colors, were holding banners which said “Diversity is Beautiful”, “No violence”, while the opponents of the LGBT movement were holding banners which said “Shame”.
Despite the fact there were people against the parade, there were only nine people arrested.
Even having small incidents, this year’s parade is officially declared to be the most peaceful one.
Some of the officials were also present at the parade.

The organizers claim that this year more than 8,000 people were presents at the parade, compared to the last year with 5,000 people.
“We are satisfied with the cooperation with the police. There were some small incidents, but no injuries,” – said Ruslana Panukhnyk, one of the organizers of the capital’s annual gay pride march to the reuters.com.

Vladimir Zelenskiy, the new elected president of Ukraine, also supports LGBT community and it going to promote tolerance towards people of LGBT Community.
