“The amateur film factory” event takes place for the first time in Romania between 31st of May until 31st of July at CREIC (Centrul de Excelență pentru Industriile Creative).
The concept was created by the French director, screenwriter and producer Michel Gondry and it gives anyone who is interested, the chance to create a movie from the beginning to the end.
“By bringing this event to Romania, we hope to develop the love for art among people of all ages. Every group is given three hours, fifteen different sets and a million of possibilities to create a movie on their own” – explains Vlad, one of the organizers.

The three hours, in which people have time to create their movie, it is important to pass through two workshops. The first workshop lasts for forty five minutes and it is basically the base for the future movie, because there, the group has to invent the title, choose the genre, write the scenario and so on. The second workshop is also about forty five minutes and there, the scenarists have to divide the roles, choose characters names and personalities, choose the locations and necessary clothes. The third and the most important step is filming the movie itself and here, let your inner artist come outside.
After the movie is recorded, everyone is asked to come in a separate room and watch the masterpiece they have created.
The project also developed in other cities across the world, such as in Moscow, Buenos-Aires, Paris and had a lot of success.

Before coming to the “factory”, people are asked to make a free reservation, so that the organizers know how to manage the platforms and filming time.
“Coming here today was the best choice I have ever made. Despite the fact I came alone; the organizers put me in a group with other participants, who also came by two persons. We made a short video about life after death and it was an amazing experience” – confesses Cristina, one of the participants.
